L'ancien missionnaire était un évangéliste qui utilisait ses talents de peintre pour élaborer, devant les yeux de son auditoire, un tableau avec un message d'évangélisation. Il était arrivé en Haïti dans les années 1950. C'est durant son séjour en Haïti qu'il a rencontré une missionnaire célibataire, Mlle Luana, avec qui il s'est marié en 1967. Pasteur et Madame Edner A. Jeanty (photo) étaient parmi leurs amis haïtiens. Quand les Golinski ont quitté Haiti, Peter continuait à prêcher dans des églises haïtiennes, entre autres à l'Eglise Baptiste Gabaon, actuellement dirigé par Pasteur Jean Rubin LOUISSAINT, ancien responsable de l'éducation chrétienne à l'UEBH et à l'Eglise Baptiste de Bolosse. Le dimanche précédant sa mort, Pasteur Golinski avait répondu à une invitation à prêcher dans une église haïtienne.Les funérailles de Pasteur Peter GOLINSKI seront célébrées le dimanche 10 février 2008 à Penny Farms, Floride (non loin de Jacksonville). L'UEBH présente ses condoléances à son épouse Luana, à ses filles Glenna et Carol, aux missionnaires de CrossWorld, et à tous les amis éprouvés par ce départ de Pasteur Golinski pour l'éternité.

Peter was born in Purd’homme, Saskatchewan, Canada and lived as a teenager in Kelowna, British Columbia, where he worked as an apprentice printer.
He accepted Christ as Lord and Savior in his late teens. The next Sunday he dedicated his life to serve wherever God could use him. He quit his job and attended Bible Institute. In 1951 he went to Haiti as a missionary with UFM Int, (now CrossWorld). He became an evangelist, serving all missions in Haiti, using his chalk art. He met and married Luana in Haiti and they had two daughters, Glenna and Carole. In 1975 they felt called to return to Canada. He pastored his home church in Toronto for four years before being urged by Haitian friends to minister in South Florida. In 1981 he became the National Coordinator for Haitian Ministries of the Southern Baptist Home Mission Board, serving all the U.S. And into Canada until retirement.
In 1999 Peter and Luana moved to Penney Retirement Community. Through February 3, 2008 he regularly preached in local Haitian churches. He was known and appreciated by the Haitians to whom he ministered.
Peter is survived by his wife Luana; their daughter Glenna, her husband Bob Wilson, and their four children (Benjamin, Kaley, Isaac and Simon); their daughter Carole, her husband Matt Miller, and their two children (Will and Charlotte); his brothers Bob Golinski and Alex Golinski, and his sisters Helen Statham and Doris Vanstone.
